Before you try to build your own games or simulations in Starlogo_TNG, it is important to spend some time 'playing' with the examples that are supplied when you install it.  This will help you get a feel for the types of things you can do with it and start to feel comfortable with the interface.

As you explore, you should be able to work out how to move around within then environment and to use different camera perspectives.  Look at the blocks of code in the workspace and try to see connections between them and what happens in SpaceLand.

Starlogo TNG has two main windows in which you work.  One is the blocks window, where you design and create your games and simulations, and the other is SpaceLand, where you get to see your programs running.  You can arrange your windows so that you can see them both at once, or switch between the two using Alt-Tab, or by clicking on the Window menu.

In Spaceland using the mouse in Aerial view:

  • Left click and drag to pan the camera
  • The scroll wheel will zoom in and out
  • Right click and drag will rotate the camera angle

You can also use the controls in the bottom right of the SpaceLand window.
