What is Macromedia Flash? 

Flash is a tool for creating rich web content that doesn't need a fast computer or internet connection. It usually has moving graphics that may be interactive.  Web designers use Flash to create buttons, banners, animated logos or large animations. 

Flash movies stream into the user's browser.  That means that the animation can begin to play before it has all been downloaded. To view Flash movies on the web you need the Flash player.  The latest version can be downloaded for free from the Macromedia web site.
